Lincoln-Sudbury Edges Central Catholic in Playoff Victory
June 6, 2024
Sudbury, MA - Lincoln-Sudbury fought off a tough challenge from Central Catholic, securing a 10-8 victory in a hard-fought playoff matchup. Controlling possession and creating scoring opportunities throughout the game, LS found key contributions from a mix of young talent and experienced playmakers.
Freshman Tyler Deede led the offense with a standout performance, netting three goals. Sophomore Rex Friedholm added two, while Drew Laguerre also scored twice to help pace the attack. Junior Nolan Martindale, sophomore Brady Malo, and freshman Kaeden Ryan each chipped in a goal to round out the scoring.
LS dictated the tempo for much of the game, winning the majority of faceoffs and outshooting Central Catholic. While Central Catholic took advantage of some man-up situations to stay in the game, LS’s ability to maintain possession proved to be the difference.
With this victory, LS advances deeper into the postseason, facing Needham next in the MIAA Quarterfinals.
