Warriors Beat AB 17-5, Advance to MIAA State Finals

June 10, 2026

The No. 1 Warriors made quick work of their old Dual County League rivals Tuesday night in Burlington, booking a return trip to the state championship game for the first time since 2019.

Brendan Dooley was the story of the night, finishing with nine goals in a complete offensive performance that included an underhand rocket, a backhanded flip between his legs, and relentless drives through the AB defense. The RPI commit looked unstoppable from the opening whistle, posting five goals by halftime before adding four more in the second half. Rex Friedholm, who opened the scoring just 19 seconds into the game, finished with a hat trick and multiple assists, while Brady Malo chipped in two goals of his own.

LS came out clicking on all cylinders in the first quarter, building a 5–0 lead before Acton-Boxborough could get on the board. The Revolution showed some fight in the second quarter, cutting the deficit to 6–2, but the Warriors answered immediately with a flurry and stretched the lead to 9–2 at the half. From there it was never in doubt.

Christopher Maranian was one of the few bright spots for AB, scoring twice in the second half, but the Revolution couldn't generate consistent offense against Warriors goalie Rex Garrozo. When the final horn blew, the Warriors defeated the Revolution 17-5.

The win sends LS (17-3 in the tournament) to Friday's Division 1 state final at Worcester State University, where they'll face No. 6 BC High, who pulled off a stunning 11-10 overtime upset of five-time defending champion St. John's Prep in the nightcap.
