
Medfield Holds Off Lincoln-Sudbury in Defensive Battle

Sudbury, MA - In a tense defensive showdown, Medfield secured a hard-fought 8-7 victory over Lincoln-Sudbury, sealing the win with a last-second turnover forced by Ben Lusby and William Griffin.
Fifth-ranked Medfield (13-2) took the lead late in the first quarter and never let it go, relying on strong faceoff play from John Olenik (winning 17 of 19 draws), a disciplined defense, and stout goalkeeping from Chase Coughlin, who recorded eight saves.
Matthew George led the offensive charge with a hat trick, while Joe Bartolotta added a goal and two assists, including a key strike to open the fourth quarter. Lusby, playing as a long pole, delivered what proved to be the game-winner with 6:21 remaining.
For Lincoln-Sudbury (9-6), Drew Laguerre kept his team in the fight with a hat trick of his own. Despite their push to even the score late, Medfield’s defense held strong, closing out the game with a crucial stop in the final moments.
