June 8, 2025
Sudbury, MA— The Lincoln-Sudbury Warriors delivered a powerful performance on Sunday, securing a 14-8 victory over No. 6 Concord-Carlisle to earn a spot in the Division 1 boys lacrosse semifinals. The third-seeded Warriors showcased their offensive depth, with junior Brady Malo leading the charge with a hat trick. Seniors Rex Friedholm, Nolan Martindale, Dante Venuto, and Will Fosnot each contributed two goals to the impressive win.
The victory marks LS' first trip to the Final Four since 2022. Having faced Elite Eight exits in the previous two years, the team was determined to overcome their crosstown rivals. Despite falling behind 1-0 early, LS quickly responded with consecutive goals from Venuto, Friedholm, and Malo, establishing a 3-1 lead.
The first half saw both teams trade goals, with Concord-Carlisle's Jason Swaim cutting the deficit to 4-3 at one point. However, LS consistently answered, propelled by two more goals from Malo. A highlight-reel play at the end of the second quarter extended LS' lead to 6-3 at halftime, as Friedholm delivered a no-look, over-the-shoulder pass to Malo, who fired in a shot while tumbling past the net.
The Warriors carried their momentum into the second half, outscoring the Patriots 6-1 in the third quarter. Martindale kicked off the scoring with a pair of goals, and Will Fosnot added two more.
Concord-Carlisle's offense was largely led by Jason Swaim, who also registered a hat trick, while Eric Palmer and Alex Fivek each netted two goals for the Patriots.
LS' journey to a state title now intensifies as they prepare to face reigning champion St. John's Prep in the semifinals.
